Furnished with original art from South Africa’s top artists as well as privately commissioned ceramic ware. There is taste and style as the interiors are the work of a top boutique hotel designer but the open plan free-flowing nature of the home is conducive to sociable holiday leisure.

The property is 2.5km away from the Hermanus (R43) Road in Vermont. The main village of Hermanus is 5km away but there are supermarkets, shops, services all easily available in Vermont. The beaches and cliff walk are minutes away with some interesting art galleries and restaurants nearby.

The area of Overstrand is rich and diverse with the southernmost tip of Africa (Cape Agulhas) in its area, an easy day trip from Vermont. A nature lover’s paradise with exciting mountain trails and unique botanical plant life and numerous varieties of bird life. The sea offers a plethora of activities including whale watching, shark cage diving, surfing and sea kayaking. There are also many internationally recognised vineyards, six golf courses and many wonderful art galleries and restaurants.

Upper Floor

From the lounge an open staircase leads to a large open TV area on the first floor ideal for entertaining leading onto a sea and mountain facing deck (where whales can be seen between May and December) from where the third bedroom can be discovered.

Third Bedroom: double bed under eaves in a spacious room with sitting are by the north (mountain-facing) window. A very sunny room with an en-suite bathroom with Victorian bath and double shower.


The cottage is separate from the main house but with a few steps from the front door. It is a fully equipped independent unit with twin beds, en-suite bathroom and kitchenette.


Alongside the lounge / dining room leads onto the mountain and sea-facing pool deck with a heated salt water pool alongside a protected outside braai area with designer loungers, furniture and umbrellas.
